We have a wonderful group of parents and families at Rolfe’s Nursery School and are proud to see long lasting friendships develop between children, parents and families during their time at Rolfe’s. We consider parents to be our partners and believe that by working together, we can achieve the very best educational outcomes for each child.
Parents are very much involved when their child joins us and we invite each parent to join us for a New Starters’ Afternoon and then again on their child’s first day of school. Parents are invited along to parent/teacher interviews and are welcome to pop into school to speak to the teacher informally each day if they wish to do so.
We invite parents in to school to read stories to the class or to share a special talent e.g. to play an instrument. Parents are also invited to join us for special days such as International Day.
Highlights for parents are the many concerts and special events that we organise at Rolfe’s Nursery School across the school year. In the Autumn Term we organise little concerts which we call ‘Tinsel and Songs’ for our youngest children and the older children take part in a Christmas Nativity Play. In the Spring Term we organise colourful Easter Bonnet parades and concerts for each class with songs, beautifully decorated bonnets and prizes. During the Summer Term we organise a fun-filled Sports Day and we ask parents to support us by running in the races too. At the end of each academic year, we organise a Celebration Evening for children and families moving on to big school with a concert, prize giving and party.
Our parents keep in touch with us and we regularly receive letters and photographs with information about how children are progressing in ‘big school’. We organise a tea party each Autumn to invite children back to Rolfe’s Nursery School and to share news of ‘big school’ with their teachers and friends.
Please do take a look at the testimonial section of the website to see some comments from our parents.
